This is an ongoing project designed to enhance wildlife monitoring and conservation through advanced AI technology. The system employs NVIDIA AI modules and cameras to detect, count, and identify wildlife, focusing on species like kudu. The data collected is transmitted to mobile and web apps, where it can be viewed and monitored in real-time, providing valuable insights into wildlife populations and behavior.

Features

  • Wildlife Detection: Identifies and tracks various wildlife species using AI-enabled cameras.
  • Species Identification: Recognizes species such as kudu with high accuracy.
  • Real-Time Monitoring: Provides real-time updates accessible via mobile and web applications.
  • Population Counting: Offers insights into wildlife population numbers for conservation efforts.
  • Data Accessibility: Enables seamless data viewing and analysis for researchers and stakeholders.

How It Works

  1. Setup: Install AI-enabled cameras in wildlife habitats.
  2. Detection: Cameras capture footage, and AI models analyze it to detect wildlife.
  3. Data Transmission: Results are securely sent to mobile and web applications.
  4. Monitoring: Users access real-time data to observe and study wildlife activity.
  5. Analysis: Provides actionable insights such as population trends and species distribution.

Challenges Faced

  • Training AI models to identify species in diverse environmental conditions.
  • Ensuring real-time data processing and transmission in remote areas.
  • Developing user-friendly interfaces for effective data visualization.

Future Enhancements

  • Expanding the system to detect a broader range of species.
  • Integrating predictive analytics for wildlife movement and behavior patterns.
  • Implementing solar-powered setups for increased sustainability.
